my S3 is shutting down

Hi - my S3 is shutting down at random.....will have used and then set down and when go back it will have completely shut down....on JB latest up date but not sure what to do....have pulled the battery and reinstalled but has not corrected the problem......any suggestions ? Thanks

That happened to me the other day...phone shut down and restarted on its own. No idea why as it was just sitting on my desk. Hope it was just a one time weird thing and doesn't become a frequent problem. Running stock, no new apps added recently. Pulled battery and SIM in hopes it doesn't happen again.

Am curious if anyone has any answers or suggestions.

This has happened to mine twice now but phone has not rebooted on its own. I had to remove the battery and reinstall it for the phone to re boot. Both instances happened one week apart one prior to the JB update one right after. I hope this doesn't continue I've only had the phone six months.
