My droid turns on and off

So my battery died and it is charging now. When I try to turn it on, it turns back off after it boots up. It also turns on by itself after a little bit. I don't really know what to do. Any suggestions?

how long have you allowed it to charge. Give it at least 20 to 30 mins on the wall charger.

I've charged it for like 30 minutes atleast but it keeps turning on and off. It also boots up and says it is fully charged and then turns off again.
