When I use a data moniterinf app it says an app called root has used 3.7mb but what is root as I haven't rooted my device.

When I click it it just shows what data it has used and that it's called root.

I can't find it at all in my installed apps or anywhere.

I mean I tried to Google it but as soon as you type in android root you only get links on how to root a device.

Root is generally the "main"directory of the device... Whether it be a computer or other device with storage... Root on a typical PC is C:\ Same applies to the phone.... I think if you Google "Root of a storage device" you may find something that can explain it better than I can..

As far as what it pertains to on your device I am not sure... It is such a minuscule amount I wouldn't worry about it... But if you have to know I would say it is something in the System itself..
