I drive an odd little car with an odd little cubby hole behind the steering wheel. This is my first attempt at something that will hold the Droid while I'm GPSing with it. I bought a vacuum mount for a Garmin off ebay for about $10 and cut the arm that has the ball on it because it was just too long for my space. Then I drilled a hole through it and bolted it to brackets attached to a little piece of luaun. As you can see the first set of holes I drilled for the bracket were too far forward and that created problems so I had to redrill. The Droid's car mount fits the Garmin ball perfectly.

Also, I drive a semi and I'll see if this doesn't give me a better way to watch tv in my truck than what I did last week on my maiden voyage with the Droid. If so I'll make another, but hopefully something more attractive.

Any ideas for a better looking (and hopefully heavier!) base? A way to hide the brackets would be cool too.
