Must have killer apps?

OK as I am awaiting delivery I would like to know what is worth getting and what to avoid. So what are you favourite "Must have" apps for the Milestone (non-rooted).

:iphone:

Swype - best replacement keyboard ever. It is an illegal beta, but everyone uses it. If you search, you'll definitely find it.

Handcent SMS - well thought of SMS app, you can find it in the market

Pandora - streaming radio app, that you can't use in Europe, so if you're here, you're mostly screwed

Things I like and use every day:

Google Finance (Market)
Google Listen (Market)
Google Maps with Navigation (you need a hacked version, so not in Market...)
Twitter app of you choice (Seesmic, Twidroid, Toiteur - there are a ton of good ones in the market)
Act1 video player (Market - I have the paid version)
ES File Explorer or Astro File Manager (both in Market)
NewsRob (but from what I hear, the new versions are either limited or cost money - I'm not upgrading)!
Currency Converter (Market)
Google Earth (Market with a system hack, or installed from hacked version)
Battery Indicator ProDROID (Market)
Newspapers (Market)
LeMonde (Market)
Google Googles (Market)

Lots of people swear about Dolphin Browser, but the stock doesn't really bother me.

Jeeze where to begin.

Xscope - Best browser out there.
Flixster Movies - Movie times, trailers, even NetFlix Queue management.
ASTRO - File Manager
Astrid - Cool to-do / task list tool.
Locale - Get your phone to do things based on location.
Pure Calendar Widget - Lists your calendar items.
Beautiful Widgets - The time, date and weather you see on Everyones Droid.
Screebl - Manages screen on/off based on orientation. Saves battery.
WeatherBug - For more detailed weather info.

That should start you off.

Brilliant thanks. With Locale would I be able to tell it to go to vibrate while at work in the hospital and go completely silent when taking services in church? Do I have to be at the locations to enable it?

for all the apps that you needed a "hack", do I need to root my phone to do so?
