Music pauses for notification sounds

Hi!

When I'm listening to music (via goggle music) and i get a notification such as gmail or text message, the music will pause for several seconds to play the sound, then automatically start again.

When i switched to google music from the stock music player, i was excited to discover that while navigating, the navigation voice pays over the music, just dimming the volume while it talks. Is there any way to achieve a similar effect for notification sounds?

So I found a somewhat convoluted workaround for this issue. My issue was when I was listening to music via Ford Sync, and not only did it pause to play the notification, it also had to tell me on the car that there is a new message. That delayed the music for several extra seconds.

There is no way to permanently disable message notifications on Sync, but I downloaded GO sms because Ford doesn't recognize it as a message. Now it only pauses for a fraction of a second.

Not perfect, but it works for now
