What is this "JustAnswer" crap? I can not believe that they expect a person to pay $25.00 just to answer a simple question. I joined this expecting to exchange information between others who have the same unit.

I would like to know if there is a recording feature in my Droid X or do I have to download an app to record sounds and voice. I also want to know if I can turn the recordings into a ring tone as you can with most other phones. Any one out there got an answer to that?

You mean you want to use your Droid like a tape recorder? Or do you want to record a conversation?

There are apps available to record conversations. I don't know about using it as a recorder.

Most of us use Ringdroid in the Market to make custom ringtones, but you do that with your MP3 files, not recorded conversations.
