Becuase they came out with the D1. 
Motorola phones - I have the Droid and the Droid X - seem to have hardware issues with the Seidio extended batteries. My HTC Incredible, however, has no problems with the 3500 extended battery, which makes my life a lot simpler.

I will have a hard time parting with my D1. This is by far the greatest phone I have ever owned. I have half the guys at work buying Android phones. One of the guys bought the Incredible and it keeps rebooting and I have no reason why? I told him to take it back and get a different one.

Motorola call quality is one of the best.
Original DROID that started the modern android phone craze.
Build quality "feels" better.
Amazing picture quality on screen.
Official motorola extended battery is a slim alternative ( much slimmer than seido monstrosities), and works well with phone.
Nexus-like google experience on OG DROID
Better battery life out of the box.
HTC makes windows phone 7 devices.
Droidforums.net appified!
