The image above (and second one in the thread below) are supposedly of the 2015 version of the Moto G. This 3rd gen budget friendly device has a pretty decent bump in specs compared the the previous versions. The price will supposedly be a bit more than the previous generation as well, (probably hovering in the $200 to $250 range).

Here are the specs that were leaked along with these pics:
  • 5-inch FHD (1080p) display
  • 1.7GHz Snapdragon 615 processor & Adreno 405 GPU
  • 2GB RAM
  • Stereo sound
  • 2070mAh battery
  • 8GB storage (with microSD support)
  • 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0
  • Android 5.0 Lollipop
As you can see, even though these specs won't win any awards for high performance, for this price they offer considerable value and a decent improvement over the last Moto G.

an SD card slot? This is a Moto product right? Could this be a sign of things to come?

So much for all those folks saying SD cards are dead. The people have spoken, and manufacturers are finally listening. That's awesome! Especially coming from Moto.

Moto rocks. A $250 or less handset with these capabilities? I hope they are ramping up production because this thing will be a worldwide best seller.

It makes sense to have an SD slot on a budget phone. Offering a phone with only 8GB of storage wouldn't work without the option to add external memory.

^this. They aren't footing the bill for larger storage spaces and it is probably cheaper to manufacture the sdcard slot than it is to move up in internal storage space.

The only thing that I see that sticks out to me is that small battery.

Love the look of this phone though. I wonder what LG is thinking?
