Maxx HD amazon and unlimited data

Does anyone know if you can do the trick of ordering the phone with another lines upgrade and swapping to your line while ordering through Amazon? And still keep unlimited? When I call Verizon they say I can do that, but not sure if the Amazon purchase will work this way.

You need to make sure that Amazon doesn't have a policy where the purchased phone on the line has to remain on that line for 6 months. If they do then you either have to pay Amazon a fee for moving it over or wait 6 months.

Back in 2010 they did have one, but I don't know what their policy is today. Best is just to send an email and ask if such a policy is still in place.

Yup, I might go to the DNA then. I have the line used for a business partner and she needs a new phone too. I can buy her a brand new cosmos 2 for $109 which would be the difference. Just sucks I essentially gotta pay $300 for the DNA but unlimited data is necessary.

DNA should still be a great phone. You just don't get the battery of the MAXX though.

Best Buy will match Amazon's pricing for the phone. They matched it to the $199.99 instead of the listed $299.99. But yeah Amazon's policy states that the phone must remain activated on that line for a minimum of 181 days or a $250 penalty will be charged. Go to be Best Buy like I did

I completely forgot about Best Buy. They finally got around to do amazon price matching.

I spent a fair amount of time checking into this tonight. I was worried about losing unlimited data too. No way I'm adding $100 bucks in fees to match current data. I spoke with several reps at both verizon and amazon. All came back with the same story. Transfer upgrade to line other than unlimited data then activate phone. Once activated switch phone onto unlimited line. Done. My extra line is ultra basic and it's so old its grandfathered for everything. I will never lose that line or my unlimited plan! I added a tiered data pkg to basic line and will reduce plan back to basic at no fee.
Amazon specifically said that the phone has to stay active on the account for 120 days. It can shift between lines and not result in the fee. verizon has no way to prevent it.
$175 amazon shipped. no tax. free activation (grandfathered). A little hassle to make the swap. dope phone.

I would double check that. Amazons policy specifically states 181 days on the same line. I talked to someone on the phone that said the same thing. 181 days on that line. No swapping. I think the person who told you that is wrong. Go to best buy and they should price match to the $179
