market place not there when insatlling rom

I have installed a couple different custom roms and they don't have the market it place. How do you get it there or am I doing something wrong?

Which phone? Are you installing aosp roms? If so you need to also flash Gapps after the rom.

it is a droid 2 and thank you I will try that. wasn't sure if i needed to install gapps.
