maps with points of interest offline

I'm going to europe and as verizon doesn't work over there I need a map app that runs offline, and let's me set points. I set them all up in google maps and then found out there's no way to cache the maps. Any basic program will do, so lonng as I can mark locations and name them. I've tried several such as mapdroyd ect, but can't find one with points.

Rmaps can store points and i beleive you can cache maps but not sure of that as i havent tried to do that yet.
