Mail is stuck?

Others haven't been getting my emails so I did some digging and I have a dozen emails in my outbox that all say sending. Any ideas on fixing this?

gmail? clear data on all gmail apps in settings... will have to re sync

Yes it is gmail. Any idea why this happened?

And clearing data, did that erase the outgoing(stuck)messages or send them?

I'm not sure what the clearing data will do...but I was having similar problems the other day...and all the mail had actually been sent already...even though the handset said "sending" -- when I checked all of the emails thru the browser...they were all in the "sent" category....it was weird.
