lost pictures i didnt delete and one of the pics are still my wallpaper please help

I tryed to change my wallpaper and it didnt change so i restarted my phone and now im missing 4 of my pics from my images but one of the four is still my backround does anyone know how to get the pics back and y this happened these pics cant be resent to me and are important to me please help.
