Lockscreen Notifications

Anybody know of an app/hack that let's you pull down the notification bar while your screen is locked?

FYI- This request is mainly for texting purposes so any apps that allow you to read/respond to texts while locked would also be helpful!

Handcent will let you read/respond to text messages via the Popup that occurrs when you get an incoming text message, even when your phone is locked.

Handcent will let you read/respond to text messages via the Popup that occurrs when you get an incoming text message, even when your phone is locked.

That is a nice feature of that app. But after reading many of the reviews of Handcent and the newest version having issues, I decided to pass on downloading it.
