I am a newbee and have found on a number of occassions my DROID in silent mode although I did not put it there intentionally. Are there other ways of putting it silent besides the Silent button?
Help is appreciated.

Well, from the lockscreen you can swipe left to put on silent. You can use the volume rocker buttons on the side to turn down to vibrate or silent. You can also go into Settings > Sound & Display and turn it to silent and vibrate from there. That's about all I know of
