Liberty Toolbox - What does "Install Bootstrap" actually do?

I just installed Liberty 2.0.1. This is my first look at a custom ROM. I installed Liberty Toolbox and from Rom Manager, I choose "Install Bootstrap". It did something successful, but I'm not sure what?

Which bootstrap does it install? Also, can someone described what bootstrap is?

It installs Droid 2 bootstrap. Bootstrap allows you to boot into Clockwork Recovery since the Motorola phones have a locked bootloader. It basically is a workaround and lets you install custom ROMs/files etc.
