LG's Record Quarter with Triple Profits on 14.5 Million Smartphones Sold

While Samsung's sales have been in a slump, LG seems to be one of the main benefactors as they have a few records of their own this quarter. LG sold 14.5 million handsets this last quarter. This was 20% more than last year and was their highest total ever. (More than one-third of those were LTE models.)

This put an end to three straight quarters of losses and effectively almost tripled their profits. This amounted to an operating profit of KRW 412 billion ($599 million).

According to LG, much of their success was due to the new LG G3 flagship. Kudos LG!

I'm glad to see LG doing well. I got a G2 several weeks back, and I think it's an excellent device. My only real gripe with it is that the camera is slow. It takes great quality photos though!
