LG revo root

So is it impossible to root my revo now that it was updated to 2.2.2? Can I downgrade my revo? I have tried one click and gingerbreak with no luck.

Yea I have been researching it a good bit but the only thing I found about the downgrade wasn't too helpful for me. Thanks for the reply though anyway

This is what I did. It also has directions to install a mod ROM that has (most of) the v6 updates and retains root.

Check your build version in "About Phone" if you have v4 at the end of the build version then you are good to go. If you have v6 at the end then you will have to downgrade your firmware back to v4 to root. Let me know if you still have any questions, comments or concerns.

Yes im new and my question was prolly already covered but i havent located it... so, are these root methods permanent? is there a way to 'save an image' or such to revert back to the factory setting if i dont like it or it crashes and needs warranty? thanks in advance
