The LG Lucid 4G is now official folks. The mid-tier device is set to launch on Big Red's network on March 29 with a very sexy $79.99 price tag attached. While the specs are nothing to write home about, they certainly are worthy of a mention. With an $80.00 price tag, the specs are a fantastic value:

  • 5-megapixel rear-facing autofocus camera with flash and full HD (1080p) video capture

Lucid by LG will be available starting March 29 in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online at Cell Phones - Smartphones: Cell Phone Service, Accessories - Verizon Wireless for $79.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement. Customers will receive the rebate in the form of a debit card; upon receipt, customers may use the card as cash anywhere debit cards are accepted.

Customers who purchase a Lucid by LG will need to subscribe to a Verizon Wireless Nationwide Talk plan beginning at $39.99 monthly access and a smartphone data package starting at $30 monthly access for 2 GB of data.

not a bad price tag for the specs given .. nice budget friendly way of getting 4g dual processor

Damn, $80?? this is what we need! I love my nexus, but thats a $220 price difference for (on paper) similar specs

What's the screen resolution? It's 4" so I'm guessing like qHD? Maybe 720p? I'm lost to how this is a "mid-tier" phone. Spec wise it's pretty much the same as the Galaxy Nexus, RAZR, ReZound, and Spectrum.

This might be the best bang for buck android phone we've seen in quite sometime. I'm curious to see popular this phone could become?

It's a WVGA screen (480x800) and I suspect the dual core 1.2GHz CPU is based on the Cortex A8 and not the A9. Right now, pretty much any sub-qHD device is considered "mid-tier"- but nowadays "mid-tier" isn't necessarily a bad thing, in this case it could mean a nice fast device at a great price.
