i have a verizon samsung netbook with no cd or dvd drive of course.. well i am wanting to install win 7 ultimate instead of starter edition.. i know a install of win 7 can be done from a usb flash drive. i am wondering if i get the win7 files on the droid 16 gig memory i have if win7 would install from that location?
any ideas would be appreciated.

Put it on your SD card, place your SD card into a USB adaptor then plug the adaptor into your computer. Viola!!

Put an *operating system* - Windows 7 Ultimate - on an SD card??

I think he was referring to the installation files.

Back to the original question, my gut reaction is that it will not boot off the USB connected phone. So if you were attempting install a fresh copy to machine that is not booted yet, I don't think it will work (guessing). If you are just looking to install OVER windows while your current version of windows is running, it would probably work, but I wouldn't risk it, because if something screws up the USB drivers in midstream you may get hosed. I would just copy the installation package off the phone to the netbook's HDD and install from there.
 
Out would be painfully slow even if it did work. SD cards and usb drives are so cheap now you're better off going that route.

I installed Win7 Pro on my netbook using a flash drive and it worked great.
