A video has been leaked out of China which shows off the iris scanner how it works. You might notice that the Galaxy Note 7 in the video has a flat display instead of the dual-edge curved display that it’s due to come with. Some reports say that Samsung created full-fledged prototypes of the flat variant in order to test the hardware while concealing the real appearance of the Galaxy Note 7 but given that so many renders and pictures have been leaked online the efforts have all gone in vain. We can see in the video that the iris scanner works quick, it’s blazing fast as we expected and makes it very easy for the user to gain access to the device.

My problem with this is if you have to press the home button to access the Iris Scanner you might as well use the Finger print scanner.

August 2nd can not get her quick enough!!!

Iris Scanner Leak.

In the lock screen and security settings you can see there is a new option below Fingerprints called Irises. The disclaimer runs through the limitations of the iris unlock feature which is dishearteningly long. Especially if you were hoping to able to use it while wearing spectacles or contacts, in low light conditions or if you don’t want to lift your phone level with your head(?).
