LauncherPro Beta (SUPER FAST & SMOOTH Launcher!)

Hey guys, I'm experiencing a noob problem while trying to uninstall the last update. Do you have to be rooted in order to go back to 5.4? I'm experiencing the same problems as everyone else, but when I go to the app in the market I don't see an option to uninstall the update.
Thanks!

EDIT: I found it by going to the website. haha sorry guys! :D

It doesnt really FC on my droid but its ridiculously slow and its screwing up a lot. at first I though it was the froyo rom I was one but Ive tried 3 different roms and its still slow. Its most recent screw up is that rotation doesnt work correctly and sometimes the homescreen is half off the actual scree and now the dock is along the right side of the screen when its in portrait mode!

I just switched to ADW until these bugs get ironed out...

yeah, went back to Helix1 (which to this day I still haven't had a problem with) until the next release of LP goes up. Or maybe I'll just switch back to 0.5.4 next time I get a chance to sit down and play with it.

Sounds like you have Keep in Memory enabled, disable it and it should run just fine.

Keep in Memory will default to disabled on next version, it's giving too many problems, and people seem to keep ignoring my suggestion to turn it off.

Fede,

Just wanted to let you know. I disabled the keep in memory option earlier today and I'm still getting multiple force closes. There have been 3 this afternoon alone.

I don't know what the problem is, but its getting very annoying that this keeps happening. Hope you can resolve the issue soon!

Just switched over from my moto Droid to an HTC Incredible (with high cap battery I/B) Liking it so far.

Reading about launcherpro a bit and am trying to see what the biggest reasons are to switch from the HTC Sense home?

If you could send me a log I'd be able to know what caused the FC's. Without logs, I can't do anything.

I am going to trying the disable keep in memory thing -- I had to reset my Droid and didn't know whether to reinstall Launcher Pro till the next update having had the force closes and lagging with recent updates myself, but I really do like the app and it would be great if it worked like before.
How do you send a log? Is that just "send report" or something else?

Download aLogCat from market. When you get a FC, open aLogCat, click Menu > Level > Error. Then Menu > Send and send it to fedecarnales at gmail.

Will do, Fede.
I was wondering, also -- does the number of screens affect whether the phone lags? I had been using 7, but I was a bit nervous about going back to that number. Maybe too many widgets?

I have a Motorola Droid running 2.1. I had launcherpro beta loaded on my system, as I had it on my other smart phones (palm/windows) and loved it.

At first it was fine (had 5.1), but then they came out with an updated patch over 5.1. I updated the beta to the newer version and I started getting the forced closes. Another side effect was the auto rotate between landscape and portrait was disabled. I went into the settings and tried to both enable and disable the settings several times. I even turned the phone off and on, with no positive result.

After about 3 days with these forced closes and lost auto rotate, I deleted launcherpro beta, rebooted my phone back to the stock home screen. Boom.. auto rotate function is back and no more forced closes. I downloaded openhome and have loved it so far.

I feel launcherpro will be a great home screen once they get all of the kinks out.

Number of screens shouldn't affect scrolling smoothness, but it will affect stability. Most FCs are caused by running out of memory. More widgets/icons means more memory use, means more chances of running out of memory.

Just updated to 0.6.1, I like the new menu layout but with all other versions the 3d app drawer worked fine now when i open drawer it won't scroll, I can open apps that are shown just can't flick through my apps. Non 3d app drawer works fine.

Any thoughts?
