LauncherPro Beta (SUPER FAST & SMOOTH Launcher!)

Eta on your site coming back up? I'm curious what's in the latest update before I download.

Warning!

Avoid the latest update, nothing but forcecloses. Was working flawlessly prior to my update sadly...

Edit* A battery pull fixed this... haven't found any extra features with the update.

Since the latest update, whenever I unlock my phone, I see a flash of my old wallpaper before the Beautiful Live Wallpaper kicks in.

I'm running the latest version of LP on a non-rooted Droid running 2.1-update 1. When I try to add a custom icon from the gallery to the shortcut dock, nothing happens. The regular icon stays on the dock. Should I be doing something else besides long-pressing the icon in the dock, selected the app I want, choosing custom icon and tapping the picture in the gallery that I want?

The only thing I'm thinking is could it be a size/resolution issue? Should I be editing the image first or should it automatically scale down to the right size?

Seems to be slow to return to home screen from an app and likes to "redraw" its self, meaning the screen goes blank sometimes after leaving an app and there is a 1-2 second pause before everything returns, then there is a tad bit of lag before you can swipe left or right. It has never done this before so I dont know if its something on my end or this latest update?

Im using the latest version 0.5.4, and pure messenger scrollable widgets and have that option enabled in preferences.
No auto rotation
minimum scrolling speed is set to 100
unchecked elastic scrolling.
3d drawer
everything else is default.

try it without the 3D draw, it does tend to lag a bit while using it. i stopped using it and it's smoother now. the Dev did a very nice job on this launcher.

Any time the launcher gets dropped out of memory, it incurs that reload penalty. I'd like to see a way to lock the home replacement in memory so that you don't end up with that problem. If you're one of those people that likes to keep a LOT of memory free, with an agressive lowmemorykiller setting, that could be part of why it happens a lot.

Is there any way to disable the "Home Chooser" screen (when you hit home on your default screen)? I don't use this, but there are plenty of times I'll accidentally hit home on my default, or hit home twice (because of a delay returning to default) and it'll pop up.

If not, Fede - any thoughts on adding this as a new option?

I use 5 screens, so from my default hitting home, then choosing a screen is slower than just swiping one or two times to get to the screen I want.

Thanks!

I dont have anything but a themed Froyo, no custom scripts to adjust memory, no task killer. Ive swapped out kernels to another and Im going to try it for a while.

Okay so I got rid of the pure messenger scrollable widget and it started working smoothly again. I put the widget back up and lag. Got rid of it, smooth. Maybe all the kinks aren't worked out of that relationship yet?

I do still have a 1-2 second pause when coming back from an app that I didn't used to have though.

I have experienced this over the last several updates, since I think the update allowing for 5x4 home screens. I haven't read anything about it either.

Let me get this straight. You are on another screen other than Home (I'm guessing screen #3 because you have 5 screens) and when you press Home it brings up a choice of 5 screens, is that correct? If so, then it's the second setting in Behavior (after going to the Menu and Preferences).

found my first personal glitch with LauncherPro this morning. I was trying to type into my google search widget and all of a sudden it went behind my calander and froze (on same screen). Everything else worked but the google search widget. I switched over to stock and the google widget was working. I switched back over to LP and it was frozen. I turned the phone off and restarted it, having the same problem. I ended up removing the widget. Just thought I'd let you know.
