Funny I said the same thing... Still have the guns and trucks, cars coming back now, won't do another big dog, the loss is too painful.

Due to an injury years ago, unless there is a virgin Mary type event, kids are a no go.

Losing a pet is rough. Adopting this one has been hard. No more free traveling, late nights, boating, etc. Huge adjustment.

I agree with the pets comments, it can be a challenge and changes your life style and hard to say goodbye when they pass. But...I will probably always have a big / medium size dog. My current dog is 14, a little deaf and I think one eye is blind. But when I walk in the door from work every day she is up, tail wagging ready for our walk. She is my buddy, and that's a win.

We're getting ready to do more travel now, like we used to before the big dog. I considered a rescue, but freedom to go around and travel is nice now.
