They are getting close to telling us to let the lawns die, and then I have to argue with the boss what to replace it with, I'm not a fake lawn fan, as good as they look these days... It's still fake.

That may be a possibility, colored rock isn't horrible. I'm not a fan of desert scaping, even though we're basically high desert here.
