I'm jealous! How'd you get started?

Almost 20 years ago with a buddy on off Construction days. And friends work at local microbreweries around San Diego.

There was a blonde beer that I had in SD 2 weeks ago. It was awesome!

We've made lots of ales, both standard English type and IPA, stouts, porters and some really awesome fruity wheats, which are very refreshing.

I'm equal opportunity, heck it's a hoppy hobby, I'm not sure I'd want to do it for a job though. Just for fun and it's nice to make a couple batches and have them on tap in my BBQ bar out back.

How do you get started?

Get a brewing book or 5, Go online and lookup beer recipes, that's how I get lots of new ones now.

There are several suppliers down here that's have the gear, and there's probably some up there in LA too. It's a pretty specific art, because if you mess up with the cleanliness of your setup, the beer will turn out nasty, thankfully we've not had a bad batch because we pay attention to the important parts, one of which is to be pretty sober while making it
