. Just had one fence post replaced and another one next week just in case. The fence is 6' high and so far the bears have only pushed a section down once in all these years. I always look outside first and go out with a tactical flashlight and an air horn. So far I haven't needed the horn yet

@bkdodger my dog is only 7 pounds and I do keep the fence locked but it's wood and the bears can dig in with their claws, and they're huge. When they get towards the top of the 6', they can topple the section of the fence over and get in with ease. They weigh hundreds of pounds and they're incredibly quiet(till they're mad) Logan's my best bear alarm as he's a barker, like most small dogs. Fortunately he's only seen one from the window
