LapDock for $150 from Verizon

I'm in! Saw this on Droid Life and just could not resist. $150 off, and it should work with future Moto phones ... such a great deal! And free shipping to boot!

That deal is amazing!

Thank you so much for posting this. i saw it the other day and ordered my lapdock 500.

Thing that sucks is it is back ordered.

Anyone know about how long until it will be in stock?

Not fully functional but will work with the bionic?

Yep, the camera, vga port, and Ethernet port don't work with the Bionic. Otherwise, other WebTop features are working.

Mine arrived yesterday and I can confirm it works with the Bionic. Very pleased so far! Screen, speakers, SD card reader and USB ports all work. A few features are missing as jhom mentioned but they may be supported in a future update. I'm not too concerned with any of them -- the webcam would be a neat feature but not a deal-breaker.

Only issue I've noticed so far is that Netflix and other video apps display upside-down when the phone is mounted in the tray. If you remove the phone from the tray and lay it flat, video displays normally. I Googled this and discovered it's not a Bionic issue but a bug with the 500 in general, including the RAZR. Moto has acknowledged it and stated it will be fixed in a future update. The workaround of laying the phone flat is not a big deal for now.

Overall it's a great device!

After playing with the 500 for the last couple of days, I can agree with unbesorgt. It is a great device. It is not a substitute for a laptop or netbook, but it clearly makes using a smartphone a more productive device. My advice is to use a mouse. It makes the whole UI experience much easier and enjoyable to use.

I picked up a Logitech M125 wired mouse and a Case Logic 15.6" laptop sleeve for the 500. They perfectly complement the 500. The 500 fits nicely in the sleeve with enough room along the side for the mouse and charger brick.
