Lack of battery removal: is it a problem?

was thinking about buying this phone straight up but what problems will the lack of being able to remove the battery cause?

ones i can think of would be getting stuck in bootloop and not being able to just take out battery to get to recovery. Has there been a way to get around this or any ideas of how to get around this?

I never looked into the Xoom so care to explain?

I just found this about the xoom. Again I don't own either, so I don't know if there is a better way or if it even works.

Alternate method

1. With the device powered off, press the Power button to power the device on.
2. When the Motorola logo appears press and hold the volume down key.
3. When the Android recovery text appears (in the upper left), release the Volume down key then press the Volume up key.
4. When the Android recovery screen (Android with exclamation point in a yellow triangle) appears, press and hold the Power button. 5. While holding the Power button, press the Volume up key.
6. Press the Volume down key to select wipe date / factory reset.
7. Press the Power button.
8. Press the Volume down key to select Yes -- delete all user data.
9. Press the Power button.
10. Ensure reboot system now is selected then press the Power button.

On the Droid Razr. In the case of a complete freeze the phone has a hard reboot. To do this you press Power and hold the volume down (-) button for 10 secs.

Which still doesn't answer my question unless we are saying the android developers hardware and software can't figure out how to reboot a device without taking out a battery. I look at that as something hardware level anyway as the OS is already crashed. We're talking basically about the function of a reset button just like on your PC which works wether you are running Solaris(UNIX), Windows, Or Linux. I'm still not following why it's such a big deal to Android users. You saying apples to oranges doesn't answer why it's such a big deal.

I don't really think its a big deal. I wouldn't mind having a phone without a removable battery. I think it is to do with flashing custom roms that are not stable and whatnot. Beats me...

I like the option to change the battery for a bigger one. Only options you have with this phone is you hope a manufactor will come out with a case that has an extended battery built in to it like some of the iPhone cases have now.
