Do I have to leave it on for a while before it actually starts saving battery?

Can you provide a little more information? What exactly are you experiencing? What are your settings? Which version of the app are you using? Free, Plus, Ultimate?

As a general answer to your question, no, but if you don't have settings setup correctly, it might not be doing much, thus not saving you much.

I'll post it when I get home. On my off period at school.

heres the thing about JD, not all devices work with it. i had been using it with my Global and was getting great battery life up to 22 hours. thats with moderate usage . then as u add certain apps, it doesnt quite work effectively as u want. no matter what settings u use. if u underclock w/low voltage u get better results

Yeah, I noticed it's not really working with the D3 good. Plus, not a fan of it cutting off my Data when the phones off cause it takes like 30seconds to turn back on. It drained my battery more then saving it. Uninstalled.

Three types of apps I avoid like the black plague: Battery "savers", Anti-virus/firewalls, and task mananger/killers.

The poor battery life of the D3 drove me to try almost any option to at least get through the day without a 10% drop per hour while just sitting on my desk idle. Even forked over a couple of bucks for the "Plus" version of JuiceDefender only to find the same thing...no help or even faster battery drain while using it. It's uninstalled now and I am just waiting for the OTA which will hopefullt address the battery life to some extent along with the other minor annoyances: blue photos, crazy autofocus on camcorder....

It also slows down your device eventually. Battery savers and task killers are good for short-term benefits but they have negative long term effects

So what do u do to save battery? My global eats battery like 4hours dead

Lol I feel like I do a lot to keep my battery in check, or at least TOO much, considering I spent $50 on an extended battery and this phone was designed to be more battery conscious with its qHD pentile screen and other factors I can't remember off the top of my head.
Basically I use airplane mode on my daily commute to and from college (subway, no signals), barely even use my phone througout the day except to listen to music, have wifi bluetooth and gps all off whenever possible, auto brightness, only 1 gmail on sync, apps that update in background are set to update very infrequently, and there's a bunch of other minor things I do to conserve battery. But again I feel like none or most of it shouldn't even be necessary. On top of everything, I don't even have any rogue apps or bloatware to suck my battery without my knowing.
I think there may be a problem with my battery (or phone? Fml), or maybe there's an app I missed that is raping my battery, or maybe my experience is typical and the people getting +11hrs of battery on normal/heavy use are just an exception to the rule? I dunno... but I had much much higher expectations from this phone and this extended battery.
As a matter of fact, right now Im in my colleges techlab using the phone usb to charge/keep alive my phone because it was about to die and I've already calibrated it three times in two weeks (since I got it).

Thanks....what's rogue app and bloatware? How do I delete them to save battery?

Bloatware like the apps that came preinstalled with your phone like the V-Cast apps
Rogue apps are apps that are coded poorly and use excessive amounts of cpu (and thus battery). These are usually apps that you wouldn't expect to kill battery and they do it while running in the background ...

Bloatware you can't uninstall unless your phone is rooted (and if it is, freeze or rename them only).
