What do you mean by reset? Go to wifi settings and turn it on? This has been happening to me, too, and it's a pain in the neck. Am I imagining things, or did my Droid just connect to my Wifi automatically whenever I was near a remembered network? It used to be so smooth.
I now have a shortcut to wifi settings on my desktop because I have to turn it on so often. Hate this. Anyone know what to do to get it working like it was before? I have tried all the sleep policies:
E.g., Wifi Sleep Policy:
When screen turns off
Never when plugged in
Never
And still the wifi turns itself off. If it slept then woke up near my hotspots, that would be OK.
At the suggestion of a Verizon support person (via email) I booted my phone in safe mode (When your phone is off, hold the keyboard menu button and the power button until 'Safe Mode' appears on screen.)
When in Safe Mode, my Droid connected to remembered wifi hotspots perfectly. According to "Timothy" at Verizon, this means the culprit is a 3rd party application.
I'm going to try uninstalling apps in reverse order of installation (as best as I can recall) until the problem goes away. I will let you know if I learn anything.
