Issue with contacts mix-up

I've had my droid for a couple months and it has been mixing up my contacts in my text messages... its a little confusing, but ill try to explain. On my text messages it will show that a text message is coming in from a different person than it really is. So the correct number will remain but it will put a different contact as the name (sender). Its really odd... I don't think its my provider since it never did it before with my blackberry. Is this a known issue? How can I fix it?

umm only time my contacts ever messed up is when I tried to add facebook contact data to my regular contacts I really have no idea if this is what happened to you or if unsyncing will fix your issue might even want to try a factory reset but I can't say for sure if those things will work for you there are other options but I dont want to send you that direction just yet? hope this helps you out goodluck
