I successfully flashed back(yesterday)and then did the new update and rooted. Today I renamed the bloatware to .bak files. I also renamed the "backupassistant file to a .bak file. I just did a factory reset. My phone started up and I activated it. As I began to set up my accounts i.e google then the screen went black. I did a reboot and the phone will starup and show my wallpaper with the slide lock. As soon as I slide open the lock I get a black screen. I did a battery pull and again when I slie the lock open the screen goes black

IIRC, Backup Assistant was one of those apps that you weren't supposed to disable if you were going to do a factory reset.

Hope you are able to recover with an sbf file.

Yeah let us know if sbf is safe on new ota. Btw how did you root on the new update? And what phone you on?

I rooted last night with my X using Z4 root after I did the OTA and it worked fine. I just flashed but it now says the bootloader is 30.04. It is mu understanding that I cant use the current sbf with this? When I flashed back yesterday so I could get the OTA my bootloader was 30.03 Is their a current sbf for this new bootloader?? Is my X now ruined ?

I don't think anyone has sbf yet.. Not sure. But could you tell me what z4root version it was? Because I tried to temp root and didn't work..

The sbf I used on wikiroot look for 2.2 sbf full and also rsd is 4.8. Note I used it on 2.3.15 though to unroot and install new update.

What's your system version? I might be able to use my mad skillz to find you the proper SBF.

Also, and most importantly, did you do something to the launcher?

I didnt touch the launcher. I only renamed the backupassistant to .bak My phone was the most current OTA. I cant turn it on to see any version

the new OTA that came out a few days ago. I believe it is 2.3.340

Not sure if anyone can confirm if sbf works or not on the new ota...well I cant.

sbf does not work on the new OTA. It is a different bootloader version now. Need a new sbf update
