Is there any applications that allows the droid to function as a GPS stand alone without verizon service?

There are navigation apps, like Navigon, that will download the maps to your phone I believe - but they take up a lot of space. Navigon isn't the only one and is really expensive - just the only one I could think of off the top of my head...
