wake up device without power button?
i'm very careful with power button but it feels like its gonna stop working sooner than i expected.

have a vibration alert when a call is connected?
i dont like keeping the phone next to my ear or keep looking at the display to see if the call is connected.

In regards to waking without the power button, check each rom for specific features on their lock screen. I'm running the Nov 25 build of AOKP and I can wake my device by sliding out the screen or pressing any of my key buttons

Also consider key remapping. When my OG Droid's power button croaked I remapped the camera button to work instead.
