Is there a way to back up my phone settings and apps?

I just had to order a warranty replacement for my DI. Is there a way or an app to backup my current phone settings and apps to transfer to my new phone?

Not rooted. Just downloaded mybackup app. Looks like this might do the trick.

With Apps you can use astrofile found in the market but in my experience it's not really all that useful :/ but I am unaware as to how to back up settings without being rooted
