Now that the Xoom is out and the Nook is covering the low end. Why get an Archos?

Is Archos dead?

in all honesty was archos really ever alive? they dont make a single tablet that i would even consider decent.
the archos tablets are about as good of quality as the tablets you can get from walmart for 99 bucks or at a drugstore like CVS or wallgreens.

I know a lot of ppl in the Android community bought em cuz they were curious. They carry em at BestBuy
I have an Archos 101 as well as a nook & the nook isn't even remotely close as far as features & performance. As long as the XOOM is overpriced & the nook is all but worthless companies like Archos will continue to make money by filling a need in a segment that would otherwise be unfulfilled.

I have both and a rooted nook still doesn't do what an Archos 101 does.
Bought the wife one, she used it for about a month and ditched it for an iPad.

Look up Archos for music players. They used to be quite popular in the PMP world.
BNB, if you'd like rid of the tablet send me a PM, I might be able to scrounge up a *very* few bucks.
My Archos is DEAD
I have an Archos 10.1 that seemed to work pretty nicely for the first 3 weeks then it died! Trying to get a replacement or refund (hopefully refund). I would not recomend this product at all. First thoughs of it was, this is cool. Just like my motorola Droid but without the phone and much larger for my old eyes to see. Nice portable option for computing during travel then it wazzed out on me and currently sits dead.

Plug in the power cable (make sure you're putting it in the power port and NOT the headphone jack as it will fit in both but one one charges, obviously). If it still doesn't boot after a few seconds press and hold the power button for 20sec. I have had mine for quite a while now and there are times where it seems dead. These two things have fixed it every time.
