internet connection issues

I am having a problem with my internet. I look at my phone it has full 4g blue bars as soon as i tap on my browser or facebook app my full blue bars go to full white bars. I also have this problem when i try to use my phone as a wifi hotspot. Someone please help before i throw it out the window! P.s. i have already done the softwear update and it did not help at all
