International sms

Hello
I just switched from AT&T to Verizon, I discovered that I cannot send international sms to some countries/providers where verizon does not have an agreement with.
I wonder if anyone found a solution via a specific app.
Any suggestion is welcomed.

Sorry to hijack your thread, but I too would like to know if there is an alternative.

I'm using the heywire beta at the moment, but it's awfully slow most of the time. Most, if not all of the SMS services offered don't have a virtual number for the recipient to text back to, so they'd end up using your real number for $$$

I haven't tried but can you use good voice?

You mean google voice? It won't work for international sms
Unfortunatly verizon is not the best choice when it comes for active international travellers, dependant on sms more than emails or phone calls
