Has anyone taken their Droid 2 Global to Canada? I'm noticing this problem:

Droid X "International Data Roaming" major problem

Basically you get an annoying, repeating pop-up warning you you are are using international data roaming. It also keeps the screen on doesn't time out and kills the battery. It also pops up when on Wifi in Canada. This is ridiculous for a global phone.
It happens when roaming on CDMA. Not sure if you're using the GSM radio.

Does anyone have a fix?

This doesn't seem to affect HTC phones. Only Motorola phones. Any rumors of HTC global android phones floating around?

Is there any fix for this problem? It makes my Droid3 completely unusable in Canada. I can't beleive Motorola can't fix the problem with roaming pop up for more then one year. What a shame!

Since upgrading to GB, I have this problem when roaming in the U.S. in an extended 1X data area. When I drive out of 3G coverage, I get a pop-up warning that I'm in an international data area and will incur roaming charges. It gives an option to accept data or turn it off. If I accept it, the pop-up comes back once, and then it works. This is new with Gingerbread.

Looks like Motorola fixed this problem for Froyo one year ago and now it is re-appear with Gingerbread.
This pop up only annoys you while roaming on CDMA networks. I just came back from Europe and it is not an issue on GSM networks.
