Incredible2 speaker maximum volume is much less than original model. Is there a solution?

All I've read are complaints about speaker volume and no reports of solutions. Well, other than one guy that claimed by using a magnet to remove metal(??) bits from the speaker fixed his. It was a strange report and no info on where the metal bits came from.
