Inc2 Battery Life

you guys who keep talking about factory resets... that wipes out all your downloaded apps and settings right?

yes, but I know with the Amazon apps, they will redownload when you go to the Amazon store.

I found the Android market apps, didn't, although some folks did say they did. I'm guess if you paid, they would download.

I was worried that my Amazon App of the Day apps would have to be purchased at coast. CSR said they would credit my bill if that was the case, but Amazon redownloaded them all without cost.

You don't lose paid apps or free app of the day from either store. You will always have them. Sometimes the market will automatically re-download your items, sometimes it doesn't. I am not sure why. One thing to check is your gmail from a computer to make sure all your contacts have been backed up. All phone data will be erased/factory reset. SD card data will not. It will not roll you back to froyo.

Still can't believe how long this lasts for a smartphone. With light usage, I am at 22 hours and 73% remaining. That is an hour and a half of screen on and 15 minutes of calls, plus all my emails (40-50) and everything else syncing at 30 minutes or less. 22 hours on my Droid X I would be at about 15% with the same usage. Now if I could figure out a way to recover that 15-20dbm of signal strength the dinc2 lacks compared to the DX I would be set. Oh well, it still doesn't miss calls, but 3g can be dodgy at times due to the low signal. Great device.

Wow. I'm down to 84% after 2 hours! What the heck?!

What does the battery manager say about what is using the battery? How much time was the screen on for? Also in the battery usage, choose cell standby and see if it shows any time without signal. Searching for signal can kill the battery very fast. That seems a little quick. I just hit 10% after 54 hours and 20 min. That is moderate usage. 3hr 51min of screen on and 35min of calls. Probably 50 emails total and everything syncing at 30min including twitter and facebook.

Hope you can discover the issue.

something is draining my battery right now and i cant figure out what. 4 hours since unplug, 54% left. played a game for 10 minutes, enter something in a fitness app, 4 texts, checked a score and that's it. no app is running when i look. weird

What are your settings? Do you have auto-sync on? Do you need auto-sync on if you do?

Brightness, auto-sync, some apps you leave on, having both wifi and 3g on at the same time, having either one on when you don't need it, try changing your call mode to CMDA instead of GSM. They all affect your battery life.

10h im down to 30% and that's with me asleep.

Display 38%
Standby 24%
Idle 22%
OS 6%
Maps 5% (why is maps always running, btw?)
Game - 3%
Camera Spp - 2%

that makes little sense to me, i unplugged before bed at 1. went to bed at 1:30 and woke up at 9. its just been sitting here since.

10h for 70% isnt bad, but i havent done anything, makes me think something has gone rogue

edit - since I checked my battery to fill this out, it's gone down to 25%. I have everything set to "update when opened" no sync. the weather app doesnt work so that's not constantly updating, my brightness is as low as possible. i force stopped the game last night, so that's not running... hmm. i had been getting great battery life too. I dont want to restore my phone either b/c i have it set up perfectly, and that took a while to do

also, why do calender and maps show up twice when i look at my running applications?

Calendar has different processes that run as a part of it so they show up separately. It is part of htc sync and then the calendar updater for the google calendar.

As far as your battery, that standby percentage seems high. If you tap on display and on cell standby they will give you other info. Display, how long was it on? Cell standby, what is the percentage without signal? Based on how high standby seems, that is likely due to low signal strength and the phone having to up its power to stay connected or find a signal. Maps will always run but it is not much of a drain unless you are using it.

For me, display was on for 38 minutes. Display is 44%, Maps is 24%, voice calls is 12%, phone idle is 8%, and dialer is 3%. I take it off the charger in the morning and go to work, never using wifi, and it's down to 80% in an hour. I turned off sync for Google News widget, put Remember The Milk to manual, as well as Evernote. Any ideas?

Let the battery die then let it fully charge off if you can. Let us know if it still drains the battery as fast. But your stand by is dam high. I don't understand how I use maps several times a day and it doesn't show up but for you guys it does

Standby and idle should be a lot lower. What's does it is say for time without signal when you click on standby? If one is losing signal a lot it will kill battery. May need to toggle between global and cdma mode. Also some type of service like mail push could be running in background if those are high.
