I'm tech dumb so you don't have to point that out!

This should be an easy question to answer.

Let me start by saying I'm not a "tech" guy. I'm not into rooting, booting, treeing, bushing, walking, talking, or bubble gumming my phone. (and yes I know those are not real things...)

I just want to make sure that I have the lastest version on my droid x and I dread the thought of having to stop by verizon and deal with the 17 year old kid who has three phones on his hip and spends 20 minutes telling me about the cool things on his phone.

I use my phone for work and typical simple stuff but I just haven't noticed an update in some time. I searched the forum and really found myself confused with froyo, gingerbread, etc....

So if I goto my "about phone" section it shows system version 2.3.340 and android version 2.2.1

If I hit the system update button it tells me I'm up to date but I remember on my prior droid I had to do it manually a couple times.

I appreciate the insight by those much wiser than me.

Officially you are on the most up to date firmware. Gingerbread was leaked for root users but it is not full release yet.
