I really couldn't care less about Pinch to Zoom

I'm sure I'll be bashed by some but I can't understand the commotion about pinch/zoom. It's just not a feature I feel I need or that I would use. It's perfectly OK for others to want it of course but I just can't understand why people get so worked up about it.

Same reason people are worked up over 2.1....and when the see a car nicer than theirs... people want what they don't have :)

Don't touch me now.... you might burn yourself. We got it hot in this b*tch, so throw the water on em....

When you don't care enough....make a new thread about it.

...sounds like a new Hallmark advertisement.

Double tap is actually functionally faster, if you like the default zoom size. Pinch to zoom is easier when you need to adjust on-the-fly.

I thought the same way until I started using it. Its just what you get used to. In particular, I think most people are used to pinch and zoom due to the iPhone, so people, by default, try it when they take the Droid Browser for a test drive.

I like how the Droid zooms better too. You can zoom with one hand whereas pin to zoom requires two. Now I can see it useful for looking at pictures and such, but for the browser it just makes things harder.

I like pinch zoom, it's really useful to me....tap zoom is easy to use to...

With pinch zoom, you can resize everything just right, just how you need it...and for viewing pictures in the browser also, it works quite nice...

Not sure why people wouldn't want pinch zoom. It's precise when you need it, and tap to zoom is never precise. The Ipod/Iphone have double tap zoom as well, and I think a lot of people either don't realize that or choose to ignore it. Especially when they try and praise how good tap zoom is on the Droid and that they don't need the ipod/iphone's pinch zoom.

Like it or not, pinch zoom has almost become a standard way of zooming.... much like sliding through your picture gallery.

It's a functional feature that shouldn't have been omitted in the first place.

I couldn't care less about pinch/zoom. Obviously I support them adding as many features as possible though. The Droid should have it simply because I like having as many options as possible.

That said, I can't imagine ever really using it. I can double tap with 1 hand and with the resolution of the Droid screen, i've never really needed to zoom more than the standard tapping.
