I keep getting "suggested app download notifications".

little green star pops up along the top of my phone or a green plus sign and some suggested app I would never be interested. How do I stop these from coming??

thanks!

Download the app "Airpush detector", and delete the offending app that it finds.

Airpush is a way for developers to make money from free apps. I feel it is a fair tradeoff if I like a free app well enough, but many others disagree.

I say "Well, the developer needs to make money somehow"

I suggest you read the following, and make your own decision:

Mobile Ads Redefined | Push Notification ad network | Android app monetization

I find the notification bar ads less obtrusive than in-app advertising, and honestly think that it's a good thing if it helps the developer.

Those are push ads. Download Lookout Ad Network Detector. That will tell you which one of your apps is sending those. Then you can either delete the app or opt out if that is an option.
