I just realized something...

There's no such thing as a "thunderbolt". there are lightning bolts of course, but thunder is just a sound. Congratulations, you just bought a phone with a dumb name!

Of course that still doesn't mean I'm not jealous though...

M-W disagrees. But thanks for playing.
Thunderbolt - Definition and More from the Free Merriam-Webster Dictionary

b : a vehement threat or censure. To the i-Phone. :rofl2::yahoo:

So is Merriam Webster like an "authority" or something? Go back to your library nerd!

i hate to be that way but ya mw and oxford are both the authorities on the english language, and thunderbolt is in both of them.

I can see a little mean spiritedness sneaking in here. How about keeping this decent. Try not to antagonize each other too much.

no i understand. i felt the same way when i heard the name. i don't really think it should be a thing, and mostly my problem was with the fact that as a marketing tool to describe a fast phone, you'd think they'd want to give it the name of lightning and not it's significantly slower companion.

Maybe it was just an off handed thought, and I didn't even really think before I posted it... *foot in mouth* lol. The tbolt is definitely an awesome phone.

Don't sweat it, think everyone is still good. Just wanting to check. How is the Droid 2 holding up? Still a really good phone in it's own right. I'm still stuck with my Incredible until I see what else is coming down the line.

Definitely wanting a bigger screen, but besides that, its great. I don't need 4g so that's not something I'm too worried about. I probably should have bought a dx, but buying this phone was kind of hard to justify at the time, so I didn't want to spend much more. I think the thing that bothers me the most isn't the phone, but just how it feels like an afterthought to the Droid instead of a true sequel.
