I have lost all my contacts

Used my phone then a few minutes later and everything was gone and I can't get them back from my gmail account and verizon was no help, they're sending me a like new phone tomorrow. Anybody have any idea what the problem may be?

Now could somebody please tell Verizon tech about this simple fix?
