htc vs. motorola?

HTC: More beautiful phones, more carriers, unlocked bootloader, and much more fun and customer friendly than Moto. They also update their phones much more often than Moto, just look at the HTC Desire, just recently being updated to FroYo.
HTC has an unlocked bootloader policy so people can access their phones more freely and however they want to, whereas Moto hates it when people mess with their hardware/software, so they locked people out of it.

+1 I agree 100%! :)

I've never had an htc so I can't really comment much but I love the challenge that having to work to things done on a Moto device brings. If customizing becomes standard and easy for all then the purpose has been defeated.

Maybe so but I'd rather be able to more than less and with HTC you get more. Moto isn't really a challenge. You can do some things, and other things will never be done

+1 i feel the same way, imo Htc makes a sleeker phone and is a lot more fun...

Shazaam!

If it weren't for the bootloader I'd say they'd be equals..... but since that's not the case HTC by a mile.

I also like not having to crop my wallpapers and it has a nicer UI, plus, it has nice widgets. Motorola widgets are terrible. And Sense in general is amazing.

In my (very limited) experience with htc the phones seem a little less responsive than the D1, but thats nothing a custom kernel + OCing can't handle (something you can't do with a locked boot loader) and all the bloatware moto puts on it slows it down anyways so as soon as my d1 contract is up and i can see where the dev community is going i'll probably be on HTC

By bloatware, do you mean pre-installed apps? Just wondering because the TB has a ton of pre-installed apps. I'm sure they're actually useful though.

Yea that's what i was talking about, my dad has a D2G and only has angry birds installed and still has more apps than me on my D1
