HTC Thunderbolt Release Date

hey ya know what's funny, we're all gathered here debating and discussing... Phones. That's it, if this were in a foreign language, people would think we're discussing a strike against Korea or something... Phones. That's all.

Both Verizon and BestBuy will get the Thunderbolt on the 14th, 4G does nothing to your monthly bill, and it's uncapped, and the phone is $249.99 with two year contract, one year contracts do not exist anymore, $629.99 retail.

End of story.

I'm not hating, but we're going back and forth on the release dates, people are asking the same question three or four times, well now it's all right here.

First, where are you getting the date of the 14th for a Verizon release? The evidence points to that date for a Best Buy release, but all the evidence points to a release date of the 24th at Verizon, not the 14th.

Second, you don't know whether 4G data will be capped or not yet (it very well could be still), although right now it appears that there will be no upcharge initially.

Third, maybe you can no longer do 1 year contracts at Best Buy, but I think you can still do them at Verizon stores. I could be wrong about that though, I'm not 100%.

Do you have links to reliable sources for any of your claimed facts?

I didn't know Verizon had a South America division. I think that commercial was meant for Spanish channels in the U.S.

Agreed, Verizon is only operated in the US as far as I know.

Most of South America is covered by Claro.

Hold off until the 14th on that survey... if he's right, give him all 10's. If he was wrong, blast him!

So does Best Buy's deal mean that Verizon.com won't sell the phone? Or does it just mean that no other retail store can sell it.

I think it just means they'll be the only ones that sell it at launch, and the Verizon stores will prob have it on the 24th

Yes, the evidence is not very concrete, that's why I said it's still speculation. But that is all we have to go on, so take it for what it's worth.

Again, that article says "national retail exclusive," which just further confirms what I have been sating. That means BB will get the phone soon, whereas Wal-Mart, Target, Costo, Sam's Club, etc. will not (or at least will have to wait several weeks or more to get it). That does not mean that the ThunderBolt will not be available at Verizon stores. The question that remains is whether Verizon stores will get it on the same day as Best Buy, or whether it will be 10 days-2 weeks later. That's what everyone should be looking into.
